January start to finish card

Hi!
I thought yesterday would be a good day to get back to the start to finish series and with just a couple of setbacks I eventually finished the videos. For a better look at the card it can be found on my blog.

The first video covers coloring TGF Cheeky Rockabilly's skin.

Second video is coloring her outfit.

In the third video I had my first setback.

The fourth video is putting together the card.

Hope you enjoy!

Coloring up Fairy Paprika

I thought li'l Paprika with her braided hair could make a nice video. This first video covers the coloring of her skin and hair.

The second video covers the coloring of her dress and wings. The finished card can be seen on my blog tomorrow morning, March 7, along with a chance to win a Paprika stamp and card kit of your very own. Thanks for watching!

Annabel the Mermaid

I've had a request for coloring a mermaid but thought it would have to wait until closer to summer to do since my card making mood usually falls in with the seasons. But when I got this cutie in the mail, I just couldn't resist inking her up, so today is the day for a mermaid video! I'm sure there will be more to come with the warmer weather. ;-)

Dee Dee is getting ready for some winter fun...

I had a question about coloring Wild Sprout Dee Dee with a dark skin tone, and I thought li'l Dee Dee would be fun on a Christmas card! So here are two videos with Dee Dee, the first one is the coloring of her skin and hair and in the second she get a winter coat with a little help from Wild Sprout Camille.

When I finish the card with Dee Dee I will post a link to it in this post below the two videos.
I have gone back through my prior video posts and added links to the finished cards and will continue to link videos to cards as I complete them.

Coloring with Carisa!

Hi there! Today we have a couple of videos from the fabulous Carisa! I love her work and when I saw that she was doing videos I knew she would be a great addition to the Color Me Copic blog! So let's give Carisa a big warm welcome!

In Carisa's words taken from
her blog
Now, I have to admit, I have shied away from doing these b/c I feel like there are plenty of copic coloring tutorials out there but I suppose I add my own spin to it. ;) Thanks to my friends who have encouraged me and been so supportive. The main thing I can stress is you can watch video after video on "how to" color, but you just gotta dig in and practice on your own. Just have fun with it - try new things - color until you are happy. :D

So, here you go. The first video is a skin tone coloring - my most used skin tone combo using E0000, E000, E00, E11, R22, R20, R01. In this video I had my tripod pretty high and I guess I tend to whisper when I'm talking to an empty room, LOL, so I'm going to work on that for future videos.

In this second video I'm coloring hair using a fabulous red color combination YR04, YR07, YR09, R29.
I do move the camera about 3 mins into the video but my hand is sorely in the way a lot. Gotta figure out how to fix that since that is how I hold my markers. LOL

Hi again!

Skin Colors - by Mary Giles

Welcome Mary Giles, our Guest Contributor this week!  She has graciously agreed to share her skin color samples with us today.  Stayed tuned later this week for for hair samples, they are great!
These give you a good idea not only of what colors she uses but how they look when colored.

Mary Giles

I got started with copics about two years ago and I bought my first 12 at Dick Blick in Ohio. I was just getting into coloring images and all I had were regular markers. I was really amazed at the creations I had seen with copics and being a gadget girl I had try them for myself. It was love at first stroke, but it did take quite awhile for me to become comfortable with them and a lot of reading and studying other people's projects. I really love how copics blend and the shading details you can get from them is fabulous. Plus you can get images done pretty quick.
